PRINCE2 Foundation

Overview

PRINCE2® (Projects In Controlled Environments) is one of the most popular project management methodologies globally. The PRINCE2 Foundation course offers an introduction to the PRINCE2 method for project management. It provides you with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method, enabling you to work effectively with, or as a member of, a project management team working within an environment supporting PRINCE2. The Foundation certification is also a prerequisite for individuals wanting to achieve the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification. 

Who should attend this course? 

This course is aimed at current and aspiring project managers or professionals who manage projects. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including Project Board members (e.g. Senior Responsible Owners), Team Managers (e.g. Product Delivery Managers), Project Assurance (e.g. Business Change Analysts), Project Support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel) and operational line managers or staff. 

The principles we will learn: 

The PRINCE2 method is a generic framework comprised of 4 elements: principles, themes, processes, and the project environment. PRINCE2 focuses on planning, delivering, and controlling the project environment from the perspective of the core roles and responsibilities involved in the project.

PRINCE2 is regarded worldwide as one of the premier frameworks and certifications that demonstrate the skill and knowledge required to deliver complex projects successfully. Learners who complete the course will be able to contribute to running a project as part of the project team. 

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for the PRINCE2 Foundation course.

Course Outline 

The course sessions will take the form of a workshop, working as a whole group or breaking into small groups to explore the content through various interactive exercises.

The PRINCE2 Foundation course will prepare you for the People Cert PRINCE2 Foundation exam which will be taken after the course at a date and time that is convenient for you.

• 60 multiple-choice questions 
• 33 marks required (out of 60 available) to pass: 55%

• Is there homework to complete outside of the classroom? With this course, there is no homework to be completed outside of the classroom. Tasks will be completed in class with guidance from your trainer.
• What course should I study next? The PRINCE2 Practitioner course is the perfect follow on from this course.
