I learned how Scrum focuses on the product, plus some useful advice around how long each sprint should last. Thank you again for an awesome course.
The trainer Mark was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I particularly enjoyed the real life examples on how to apply the theory.
As we find ourselves in a fast-paced landscape, customers expect new features and improvements regularly and the ability to be agile is essential. The individuals and organisations who follow an agile framework and can respond quickly to change, are favoured by customers and prospects alike.
Scrum is the most common Agile framework in the world today, with over 75% of Agile teams using scrum or a similar hybrid approach, according to the State of Agile Report 2020. The Scrum Fundamentals course offers an introduction to scrum and equips learners with both an understanding of the key values and principles of the Agile and Scrum approach. During the course, we will cover the benefits of working within a Scrum framework and explore its values, roles, artefacts, and events, along with practices and terminology. By the end of the course, you will be able to work within a scrum team which operates at higher productivity and enables the quicker release of useable products to users and customers.
Who should attend this course?
The Scrum Fundamentals course is for anyone who has a desire to understand how to introduce the Scrum framework approach to their products. Ideal for development team members, change leaders, potential Scrum masters, and product or process owners.
What principles we will learn:
The Scrum guide sets out four core elements of the framework: values, events, roles and artifacts. Together, we will explore the core elements along with the underlying theory of empiricism to understand how Scrum is used in organisational environments to deliver value to both you and your customers.
Scrum provides a simple framework for the iterative development of complex products. The Scrum Fundamentals course is ideal for those wanting to start their journey to mastering scrum through completion of practice and further learning.
Ideally, learners will have some knowledge of agile methodology or have completed the Agile Fundamentals course, although not mandatory. To help you prepare for the course, you will be sent a video to watch which outlines the key learning points of the course.
The course sessions will take the form of a workshop, working as a whole group or breaking into small groups to explore the content through various interactive exercises. Your trainer will lead a retrospective at the end of each session to help you put what you have learned into concrete actions and practical use. There is no exam necessary for this course but upon completion, you will receive a digital badge from Cert Unlimited.
